The 2014 Pacific States Biennial National (PSBN) printmaking exhibition opens Oct 15 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Campus Center Gallery and will remain on display through Dec. 1.

The PSBN is the longest running competitive print exhibition in Hawaii. This year’s exhibit was juried by artist Willie Cole and features 50 works on display selected from a total of 484 entries submitted by artists throughout the United States.

Cole is a noted contemporary sculptor, conceptual and visual artist best known for assembling and transforming ordinary domestic and used objects, such as irons, into imaginative and powerful works of art and installations. He is currently in-residence through Saturday to interact with students and will make a presentation at 6 p.m. today in UCB 127.
